Audits are done to understand the current environmental and cultural state of nominated sites and their future potential for nature development.

Audits provide environmental data on soil health, vegetation, the water table and rainfall and existing insect and animal populations and activity. They also provide context for the site in the local cultural life of the community and how nature contributes to this. 

An audit helps to better plan use of a site and understand the likely future impact of any nature-based solution.
